How long does setup take?+
One WhatsApp conversation. Message your business name, what you sell, a logo and your area — your shop goes live. Add your first product with a photo, name and price.
Do I need to install an app?+
No app to install and, by default, nothing to pair. Shopdey works alongside the WhatsApp you already use.
What can I sell?+
Goods, food, appointments, professional services, or digital downloads. Shopdey shapes the storefront to your trade with five archetypes: Shop, Kitchen, Bookings, Practice and Instant.
How do customers pay me?+
Checkout offers up to three choices, depending on what you sell: Card (Flutterwave test mode, no live money), Pay on delivery or collection on physical orders, and Arrange manually. Pay on delivery and manual arrangement move no money through Shopdey at all. Card is the only rail we operate, it is in testing, and it currently settles to Shopdey's account, not yours.
What does "Arrange manually" mean?+
It is the option for a payment Shopdey does not process. You and your buyer agree how the money moves; Shopdey records the order and does not mark it paid. There is no upload step at checkout and nothing is attached to the order, so Shopdey never sees or checks that payment.
Is a payment marked "paid" safe to trust?+
Yes. Shopdey's server verifies every online payment with the provider before an order is marked paid — the web page never decides that on its own.
Is my WhatsApp number safe?+
Your number stays yours. By default there's no pairing and nothing to install, and we send conservatively. If that ever changes, we will explain exactly what it involves before anything is switched on.
How does Shopdey fight scams and build buyer trust?+
Every shop is opened from a verified WhatsApp number, and Pay on Delivery lets a cautious first-time buyer pay only when the goods arrive. Shopdey also recomputes every price on the server, so a tampered page cannot change what is owed.
Will it work on a cheap phone and small data?+
It's built for exactly that. Storefronts are under 200KB and load fast on 3G — the way most Nigerian customers really shop.

Can customers still chat with me?+
Your dashboard carries a contact setting with two choices: off, or a manual WhatsApp handoff you make yourself. Storefront and checkout pages do not render a chat control today, and completing an order does not message you or your buyer. Customers who already have your number reach you the way they always have.
